Great Idea, Great Product. Still Cardboard at a High Price
I like it but for the price, I would rather have wood than corrugated cardboard. That said, I put a little foam rug on it and my handicapped cat (missing a rear foot) spends a lot of time sleeping on top of this and playing with the other cat through all of the little windows in the middle. It's nice to see cat furniture where she feels safe. We play a game where I hide treats all over the little shelves and she gets a little exercise climbing and finding them. Plus, since I have 5 blocks, I can rearrange them if I get bored and the corrugated cardboard weighs little and easy to move. For the price, I'm not sure I would buy it again but it is a fun novelty.I was impressed by the packaging. The box came damaged with a big hole on the outside. No noticeable damage to any of the actual pieces though and since it was protected by cardboard, everything is recyclable except the catnip bags. The catnip bags are secured very tightly onto the cardboard wrapping of each piece (on the inside of the piece), along with the plastic fasteners. I had a hard time opening the catnip bags without getting it everywhere.

I have enjoyed putting together different catris configurations for my cat to explore, we change it every few weeks. My cat loves clawing on the catris as she prepares to jump/ climb on it, which keeps her from using other furniture, carpet and rugs. I have it by a window so she uses it a lot for watching birds and also sleeps on it during the day. Since it can be put together to be wall hugging, it doesn’t take much space. The greige color we chose works well in our home. The only negative so far is the clips included to hold the pieces together are plastic and not a good color match for the catris- very visible. They also seem flimsy. They do hold to pieces together pretty well so far, however. All in all happy with the purchase.

I love this product but more importantly my cats love it! I started it low to the ground and will try the taller configuration next. My younger cats starts every morning scratching on it, and then hides in the square. My older one sleeps on the top every afternoon.

The construction of these blocks is superb - I had another cardboard scratcher that was much lighter and the cats were constantly knocking it over. These are sturdy and strong, and are quite attractive as well - the footprint is pretty small, considering.

Highly recommend these!

Katris is pretty cool. I got it to purpose as sort of a jungle gym for my young full of energy cat (front declawed) and a scratching post for the cat guest I have staying with me temporarily. The cat guest does have front claws and the katris would provide a place to scratch other than picking at the Oriental carpets. I've only had it set up for about a week so the guest cat hasn't figured it out quiet yet as far as I can tell which is the only reason I am giving it a 4 as of right now. I just don't know yet. The peices are a good weight and they can be put in a number of different formations which is nice. The braces give it enough structure to hold together which is all it needs. When the opportunity arises, I will be adding to our collection!

I put this together last and had to gush! We got the pine finish and it looks so polished. I do wish the clips looked as modern and the tree itself, but I don't mind that much. I used them on the front and back because we made the blocks go pretty high. It's incredible! They are stairs to the top of a wardrobe our littles used to be able to access in another home. We use the open spaces for their toys and treats, like their own hub. It's a wonderful thing for a smaller house and they love it. :)

Neat product. It allows you to get cat furniture in your house without having beige carpeting everywhere. The modular design allows you to set up the blocks to match the capabilities of your space. The cats love playing on it, and laying on it. Each shape comes with it's own bag of catnip. I didn't need the catnip to make my cats like the blocks, but I applied anyway to make them love the blocks.

The blocks are really neat, and really sturdy. I wish it wasn't as expensive as it is (Seriously, $200 for carboard?!), but I couldn't find anything else like it on the market.

The only downside other than cost is that the plastic clips are basically useless. Within one hour of application there were 2 (of the provided 10) clips that were broken. Within a day, half of the clips were broken. Don't think it's a size issue of the clips, but rather a material issue. It's made of cheap plastic, and at the bends there's not enough thickness of the clips to prevent snapping. Design choices could remedy this (eg use better plastic, use enamel covered metal, or up plastic thickness), but that increases cost.

You can, of course, purchase additional clips on the manufacturer's website... for $3 a clip. Plus shipping and handling. Did I forget to mention that within 24 hours 50% of the clips broke?

I reached out to the company (Papercut Labs) via their webpage asking for replacements. Did not receive an answer.

In the end, since we wanted to have some assurances that the cats would be playing safely on this, we invested in zip ties, which seem to do the trick well enough. Just make sure to bend the ties at each of the corners to prevent them from digging into the cardboard and you should be fine. Also trimming the zip ties after application helps it to look better.

What a great product! I needed something for my nine-month old kitten to climb and play on. She is a bit lame in her back legs and has to use her claws for stability since her jumping abilities aren't quite up to cat quality! Most of the cat condos and cat trees have a fairly large leap as the first "step" and she can't jump that high. (Well, actually she THINKS she can, but she usually misses or grabs on with a few claws and then tries to pull herself on up.) This is the purr-fect answer! Pricey, yes, but extremely well made, versatile and completely cat claw friendly. I ordered the entire "starter kit" and love that I can add on when I'm ready!

All 10 clips broke within 3 days! Three broke during assembly and the remaining seven slowly broke without my cat even getting on the blocks. The blocks look great and are sturdy. I am sure my cat will love them once she warms up to them but the clips are cheap, cheap, cheap. I just bought heavy duty Velcro to secure them together and can already tell the entire structure is more stable. If you like the blocks and are willing to buy additional supplies to secure them, then go for it. If not, pass.
